''A phenomenal richness and power; a combination of density and softness of unsurpassed technical and natural content. One of the best Italian reds, chapeau.'' 98 Points, Luca Maroni
Hi Folks,
We're very excited to announce the great news that one of our favourite Sangiovese based blends from Tuscany; the Villa Trasqua Traluna 2017 has just been proclaimed by Italy's most Iconic wine writer Luca Maroni as one of the Best Reds from his Italian Wine Guide Annuario Del Migliori Vini Italiani; Luca waxed lyrical about this Tuscan Red, in a way that only the great writers can do:
''A phenomenal richness and power, that a perfect compositional harmony of likewise exceptional gustatory smoothness yields. A combination of density and softness of unsurpassed technical and natural content. The highest enology and viticulture; a vivid and crystalline revelation. One of the best Italian reds of the year, chapeau.'' 98 Points, Luca Maroni, Annuario Del Migliori Vini Italiani
So what's its like?.... Firstly, It begins with a vibrant ruby red colour with violet hues. This features lovely aromas such as violets, cherries and spices with soft tannins, richness and a nice balance of acidity. Its a smooth Sangiovese, with a slight hint of smoke on the finish. If you're chasing a lighter style Italian Red for drinking pleasure during the Spring/Summer weather; between $20-$30 dollars, than this is it!
