The fruit comes from old bush vines planted on the south-facing, slate-rich slopes around the village of O Moullón (in the mountainous eastern limits of Valdeorras). The rocky soils, high altitude and cold Atlantic weather patterns here sculpt juicy, racy, tangy, cherry-scented, light to medium-bodied reds.

Valdeorras is a tiny region on the north bank of the River Sil which lies between the towns of O Barco to A Rúa, just south west of Bierzo. Valdesil’s Godello vineyards are among the highest vineyards in Spain. Located in a warm valley between towering mountains, the vines of Valdeorras receive a higher exposure to the light than other Galician regions.
