A youthful purple color in the glass, the aromas have a brief instant of pepper but are quickly overtaken by dried cherry and dark red fruits, as well as floral tones. Lovely lushness, savoury and supple.
Another long-time Piedmonte favourite of mine. Has always been a 'junior burger' priced wine but carries itself nicely as a proper serious Nebbiolo. Having dropped the Barbera from the blend, the wine is now a 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Cabernet Franc mix.
Michel Bettane & Thierry Desseauve - The World's Greatest Wines "We do not know of another winemaker capable of consistently extracting so much eloquence ........and packing so much minerality from the limestone terroir into the one wine!"
Another high quality 'grower' discovery. I can personally vouch for the fruit intensity and purity - when was the last time you drank a Champagne that felt like you were drinking a super high end Chardonnay 'still' wine?
