'It's true that only one Bordeaux wine made it through to our Best In Show collection this year, but that wine is a commanding one. This statuesque St Emilion is dark black-red in colour; aromatically, its glowing ripe black fruits both seem to be sweetened yet freshened by classy oak. The palate is expansive, amply ripe, rich and gratifying, lent complexity by flavours of smoke and earth but by firm supporting tannins, too, as well as by sweet-toned acidity. All the lineaments are there for a hugely enjoyable wine.'' 97 Points, and Best Bordeaux on Show, Decanter World Wine Awards 2019
''2016 is a top vintage. I can confirm what I thought when I tasted hundreds of 2016s from barrel in Spring 2017: the 2016 is one of the best vintages since 2010. To conclude, I want to buy a number of wines in 2016. And I recommend you do the same if you love excellent Bordeaux. The wonderful balance, intensity and clarity of the wines are so, so Bordeaux today.'' James Suckling
''What makes the 2016 vintage so special is the quality across the Bordeaux hierarchy. They all offer bottlings with rich, ripe fruit and a tannic structure that promises longevity.'' Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
