Envinate Taganan Tinto Blend 2018

From the wild terraces on the remote North-Eastern corner of Tenerife. A myriad of varietals are inter-planted here, ungrafted, and allowed to weave above and below the earth so that it’s almost impossible to tell where each vine begins or ends. Taganan Tinto contains Listan Negro, Baboso, Tintilla, Listan Gaucho, Malvasia Negra, Sumoll amongst others. It’s a surprisingly light, sappy and fresh red, lying somewhere between Pinot and Cab Franc in weight but full of scents of terracotta, mineral salt and crushed dark cherry. On the palate there’s a notes of saltbush and dark sour cherry but it's secondary earth and mineral flavours that stand out now, graphite, smoke, tar, in the cool conditions of 2018.

Incredibly elegant; with food-friendly red berry acidity and distinctive volcanic, mineral crunch that comes through in perfect balance with the succulence of the gentle fruit to make a wine that whispers its flavours.
