An all-too-rare 'colab' (as the kids would say) in the world of fine wine. Talented Burgundian wine making couple Anne Gros and Jean Tollet established a family project in Minervois (Languedoc) and have set about showing the world that wines from the south of France don't need to be about bulk product and low prices.

The '50/50' is a Grenache majority blend with small portions of Syrah and Carigan, all sourced from 35yr+ vines. And no, Brian doesn't have his own appellation, rather this is one of the 60 (!) IGP appellations that can be found in the broader Languedoc Roussillon region.

Given what Anne's pinot's sell for (the top wines $1,000+) $48 for the family's entry level wine seems like a steal.
