This week's edition comes from one of the most Beautiful islands on earth Sardinia with its most iconic white varietal Vermentino di Gallura its star attraction. One of the top producer's of Vermentino in the world is Vigne Surrau who have recently released their 2018 edition which is very aromatic; with peach blossoms, lemon-zest, yellow apple and citrus aromas. It has a rich, creamy texture that carries the apple and peach fruit into the finish, where the acidity-emerges into a stony minerality that lingers. Vigne Surrau is a winery that has a serious reputation having been recipient's of Italy's Gambero Rosso Guide top Award ''Tre Bicchieri'' 5 Years running from 2014-2018 (that's no mean feat) and the current release has also made a big impression on 2 x of the major International wine publications Vinous Media & The Wine Economist who were enthralled by the complexity, concentration and finesse on show.
